more about the project

One day your phone rings and you hear two strangers talking on the other end. They can’t hear you but you can hear everything they are saying. Eight distinct phone calls coming direct to you via robo-call technology. A different phone call each night. The calls range from a few minutes to ten minutes. Playwright Scott Adkins, missing the joy of overheard conversations, brings you a series of eight everyday phone calls to connect with random fictional people. Written and directed by Scott Adkins. Sound design/engineer by Gavin Price. Performed by Ellen Walz, Chris Padro, Shavell Fernandez, Peter Moriarty, Sara Meade, Trevor Vaughan, Izzy Hamboussi, and Leah Bickley.

details for participation

Party Line is a series of pre-recorded calls, pushed out to the audience via a robo-call platform at about 8pm local time. Audiences are encouraged to mute their phones when they receive the call to prevent the call from restarting which can be caused by loud noises (dog barking, doorbell, laughing).

With purchase of your ticket, please read and respond to your ticket confirmation email to securely share your phone number & address with the writer. Through this confirmation email, audience members will fill out a form providing their preferred phone number and mailing address.

You will also receive an SASE to send a note or questions to your favorite character in the series. Every audience member who writes will get a response from that character.

Let's Make a Theatre Company, During times of havoc and uncertainty, creatives have had their lives, careers, and dreams put on hold. Let’s Make A Theatre Company is an experimental theatre group/collective of students from SUNY Purchase aiming to redefine what theatre could be. Our goal is to explore, entertain but also enrich and educate both the artists and the audience in this new era of theatre and arts. We are determined to shine a light on different views of theatre during a global pandemic. We want to create during a time where entertainment has been halted. We are the next generation of theatre makers. We are the new precedent.
